We started our week off with an awesome Cultural Arts presentation provided to us by the PTO. It was a band called Steve Elci and Friends, and they were amazing. We had fun dancing along. Thank you Burr PTO!
In Reading, we focused on using a variety of strategies to solve tricky words. We learned that it's not only important to be able to read the words, but we need to know what they mean as well.
In Writing, we continued our unit on writing small moments. We focused this week on including a beginning that would grab the attention of our readers. We also learned to include comparisons in our stories to make them even better!
In Math, we collected data and created bar graphs and pictographs. We also learned to analyze the information in those graphs. The fact strategy that we focused on this week was using ten to help us add 9 to a number.
In Social Studies, we learned about Urban and Suburban communities.
*Don't forget to bring you reading log back to school on Monday! We will send a new one home that day.
Have an amazing weekend!
