We had a fantastic cultural arts assembly today. The CT Science Center came to our school to teach us the science behind bubbles. It was very informational and very fun! Our friend Max even got put INSIDE a bubble!
We celebrated Keira’s 8th birthday today! It was also twin day to celebrate the money raised for the Haddam Fuel bank. Here is a picture of sone of our twins. We also had kids that “twinned” with people from other classes!
We have been working hard in PLTW for the last 6 weeks. We have learned about different forces of erosion and things that can be done to help protect the land. Today we put our knowledge to the test! We were split into groups and each group needed to design something that would help protect houses on the side of a mountain from a landslide caused by heavy rains. The designing process: Ready to test: Testing: The end results: Our next step is now to reflect on which parts were successful and which parts were not. We will then discuss how we could have made our design better.
We celebrated Rachel’s 8th birthday today with delicious chocolate dipped pretzels! Happy birthday Rachel!
