We had a fun day celebrating Halloween today. We played some games, ate some treats and had a blast parading around the school! The rest of the class had the opportunity to test out their devices in Project Lead the Way. I am proud to announce that EVERY SINGLE device spread seeds!! Some were more successful than others, but they all worked! We talked about the strengths and weaknesses and how we could make them better. What a great group of engineers we are!
Our groups have started to test their inventions! We have had two groups go so far, and both were successful. One group dispersed 9 seeds and the other dispersed 12 seeds. Great job kids! I can’t wait to see the other groups test!!
We have begun the engineering and design process in Project Lead the Way! We are designing something that will disperse seeds in a way that mimics an animal.
I can’t wait to see how they turn out! October is Fire Prevention Month. Yesterday we had the Haddam firefighters visit our school to talk the kids. They all enjoyed the visit!
We got to meet our buddies today! Our class is teaming up with a Kindergarten class this year. It gives the second graders a chance to be the “big kid”! Today we made Halloween cards to mail to soldiers over seas!
