What a busy week we had! We had a visit from the local firefighters, a cultural arts event on anti-bullying, and did a lot of learning! We started writing our information books, we transitioned to nonfiction books in reading and we are learning all about place value! We even started our science unit on soils. We ended our week creating Microsoft word documents in the computer lab. We learned how to type our sentences, change the size of the font, change the font style and insert pictures! I look forward to seeing you all at conferences this week. Don't forget the kids get out early on Wednesdsy and Thursday!
Friday was crazy hat day! The kids got to wear a hat to school for a donation of $1.00. All proceeds were donated to JDRF.
Check out our book trailers! If you take your mouse and "hover" over my name you will see a button that says "student work". Click on that button to see our trailers!
You can also click on this link to bring you there: http://besgrade2.rsd17.org/student-work.html ENJOY!!!!! We had another great week in Room 11.
In Reading we were learning about how "Authors have intentions, so pay attention". We focused a lot on the authors message or lesson. In math, we continued our study of graphs and analyzing data. We also took our First Friday Fact Fluency! We continue to work on our small moment stories in writing. In social studies we have now learned about the three different types of communities. We had a great conversation about which community type we live in. The children finished writing their book trailers and we will record them this week. Be on the lookout for those to be posted. We had a fun day on Friday during Disco Day. The kids enjoyed dressing up and getting two dance breaks during the day! |
