Today was "Hawaiian Day" at Burr School! This was a fundraiser organized by two of our students to benefit the Garden Club. Great job Madelibe and John! Today we learned to write a blog. The kids listened to a story with Mrs. Kohs and then responded to one of two questions with their opinion! You can see and reply to these blogs by hovering over my name and then clicking on story blogs. Check them out!
Welcome back to school! I hope you had a great April break. I can't believe we are in the final stretch!!!
We are finishing up our math unit on measurement and graphing. The kids created their own bar graphs using their own data from a handful of cubes!
Today was "backwards day" at school! Students got to wear their clothes backwards for a $1.00 donation. All profits were donated to PWS Families United to help children with Prader Willi Syndrome. I'm am so proud of Reagan, Faith and Alysa for organizing this awesome fundraiser! Great job girls!
Mrs. Spong came to visit us with a very cool science activity. We have been learning about solids and liquids during science. She brought in an activity that tied in perfectly with out unit. Each student had the opportunity to create their own "wave machines" using colored water and mineral oil. Mrs. Spong taught us all about density! The kids first compared different solid blocks and sorted them by weight. After this we made our "wave machines". It was a lot of fun. Thank you so much Mrs. Spong!!!
Today in math, I told the kids that we would be measuring worms! The task was to estimate the length of the worm, measure the worm, then STRETCH the worm as far as it would stretch and measure it again!!!! Good thing I was talking about gummy worms!!!!!
