The kids had a blast doing the birthday craft that Molly brought in to celebrate her birthday! It was such a treat for us! Today we were introduced to the Tower Garden. Mrs. Burt taught us all about how it works. We were all amazed to learn that the plants will grow with NO soil! After her presentation, we all got to plant our seeds. We are very excited to see all of our fruits and vegetables grow. The Tower Garden will be housed in Mrs. Burt's room, but we are getting a dolly for it so we will be able to move it into our classroom.
We had some fun with Go Noodle today. It's a great website that provides the kids with some movement brain breaks! I like to let the kids do these when they've been working hard, after a test, on indoor recess days or just for a fun brain break.
We had a great Cultural Arts assembly today. Mr. Tom came to talk to us about anti-bullying. He gave us a lot of wonderful information on what to do if we see any bullying taking place and how to handle situations where we may feel bullied. It was a fun assembly!
Look who's going to be greeting us in the morning!! It's Chomper, the one eyed monster from the fundraiser. The kids will be so excited!!!!
Wednesday night is Curriculum Night. I hope to see you all there! It begins at 6:30 pm. I look forward to seeing you!
Some upcoming dates...
Curriculum night is September 14th. I hope to see you there! Picture day will be on September 28th. If you haven't already sent me a quick email, please do so I can add you to my group email list! Thank you to the parents that have sent me a message! We had a great first week in Room 11! The kids have been amazing. We have been learning about our rules and procedures. I am so impressed with the work habits that I am already seeing. On Friday the kids enjoyed playing "Race to 100" in math!
